Welcome Sarah Krider!

on Wednesday, 21 January 2015

Pikes Peak Prep is happy to have Mrs. Sarah Krider joining the team as our new Assistant Principal and Master TAP Teacher. Mrs. Krider has been working in education for approximately twenty years and came to Pikes Peak Prep from Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy. During her career in education she has had the opportunity to take her scholars on various service learning projects around the world to places including Mexico, Haiti, and Nicaragua. Seeing the effects of extreme poverty in such places, Mrs. Krider has a desire to change poverty and a persons access to basic necessities including food and clean drinking water.

Highlight on Scholar Jordan Abbott!

on Thursday, 18 December 2014

Pikes Peak Prep Senior, Jordan Abbott, is excited about a new opportunity that has been presented to him. Just a few days ago, Jordan received his acceptance letter to McPherson College in Kansas. Along with the acceptance, Jordan was offered a $40,000 scholarship. This scholarship is based on a persons academics students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and score at least an 18 or higher on the American College Test (ACT). At seventeen years old, this is quite the accomplishment for Jordan and the Pikes Peak Prep staff and community could not be more proud and excited for him, especially considering all of the obstacles he has overcome these past few years.

This week Pikes Peak Prep puts the spotlight on our School Counselor, Ms. Jamie Mondragon or, according to some students, Ms. Dragon. This year marks Ms. Mondragons fourth year at Pikes Peak Prep and she says she is very happy here and appreciates all of the support she receives from her Pikes Peak Prep family. She knows that each of us is always willing to assist her in any way that we can!
