Pikes Peak Prep Board Meetings: Every THIRD WEDNESDAY from 5:30 –7:00 p.m. School administration is required to attend; staff and community members are invited and welcome. Meetings are usually held at the school.

Walter Glover (President)
CFO, United States Olympic Committee
Walter Glover has served as Chief Financial Officer of the United States Olympic Committee since January 2005.
As Chief Financial Officer, Glover is tasked with the overall management and supervision of the organization’s financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, risk management, purchasing operations, warehousing, office services, and retirement plan administration.
Glover joined the USOC in September 2000 as Director of Budgets and Analysis. In May 2002, Glover was named as the organization’s Controller. In the Controller post, he oversaw the USOC’s accounting, financial reporting and budgeting operations in addition to the annual external audit process. He served as Controller until his appointment to the interim Chief Financial Officer position in 2005.
Glover came to the USOC following a 20-year career with Philip Morris USA, where he held various financial management positions, including Southwest Region Director of Finance (1996-2000). While at Philip Morris USA, he was a member of the team in 1996 that implemented the then-largest SAP software system installation in the U.S. He served the dual role of Finance Director and Finance Division Team Leader for the project that had a complement of over 200 employees and consultants, and required two years to fully implement. He was also a member of a three-person team that developed and implemented the first ever comprehensive set of financial payment policies for the 2,000-member national sales force to assist with administering the company’s annual multi-billion dollar sales, merchandising and retail promotion programs.
A Certified Public Accountant in the state of North Carolina since 1978, Glover is a member of the American Institute of CPAs. Glover is a cum laude graduate of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C., with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He earned his MBA at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., and served four years as an officer in the United States Air Force.
In addition to his work at the USOC, Glover is active with several community organizations, including member of the board of Metropolitan YMCA of Colorado Springs. He is a member of the board and Treasurer for the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, and a member of the board of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute (CSLI). He previously served as Board Chair for Care and Share Food Bank of southern Colorado He is also a longtime member of Executive Advisory Board for the School of Business at North Carolina A&T State University.
Glover and his wife, Willia, live in Colorado Springs and have two adult children, Kory of Colorado Springs, and Melanie of Charlotte, NC.

Wayne Artis (Secretary)
History Professor, Pikes Peak Community College
Wayne Artis received a bachelor’s degree with honors and a master’s degree in history from the University of Delaware, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He was a career army air defense artillery officer who served in a variety of assignments in Korea, Italy, Germany and France and also served as a political-military affairs specialist. He joined the adjunct history faculty in 1992 and full-time faculty in 1996 at Pikes Peak Community College and has also served as department chair and interim dean of two instructional divisions. In 2000 his colleagues at Pikes Peak Community College elected him faculty member of the year. From 2000 to 2004 he was the faculty advisor to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education and currently serves on the GE-25 Council implementing the guaranteed transfer core curriculum in higher education in Colorado. Currently at Pikes Peak he teaches the Western Civilization survey courses and a course in 20th Century World History and is Co-chair of the History Department and responsible for transfer relationships with four-year colleges and universities as well as teacher preparation. When not at work, Wayne enjoys riding Lance, a seventeen hand former race horse, walking Train, a wimp Pit Bull, gardening, reading history, and listening to opera.

Jennifer Dodd
Olympic Education Program Lead, U.S. Anti-Doping Agency
Jennifer Dodd is currently the Olympic Education Program Lead at The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). She develops and implements educational initiatives for National Governing Bodies and elite-level athletes. She has been with USADA for the past 2 years. Prior to joining USADA, she worked as a Program Associate within a highly competitive two-year leadership fellowship at El Pomar Foundation. Jennifer earned a BS in Biology at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.
In addition to her work at USADA, Jennifer is and always has been actively involved in the community. She previously served as a community-based mentor with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, was the Registration Chairperson for the African American Youth Leadership Conference, and at the young at of 16, served as a National Board Member of the N.A.A.C.P. Currently, Jennifer is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - a national community service organization, a Board member of the Colorado Prince Hall Foundation, and the Scholarship Chairperson of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Committee.
Gary H. Feffer
Fountain Colony Company
After two years as a retail buyer for Goldwater’s Department Store; a May Company Department Store in Phoenix, Arizona, Gary Feffer joined the Schuck Commercial Brokerage Company in 1983. There he specialized in sales and leasing in the Colorado Springs Central Business District. Grubb & Ellis acquired Schuck in 1985. In 1989 Gary was designated as a Senior Marketing Consultant –an honor awarded to less than ten percent of the national sales force. This award recognizes a high degree of professionalism, leadership, high ethical standards, production and earnings. In 1991, Gary played a principal role in Palmer McAllister acquiring the Colorado Springs branch of Grubb & Ellis.
In 1996, Gary and his partners sold the company to Frederick Ross. Eleven out of thirteen years, Gary was honored as one of the company’s “Top Five” sales agents, being number one in 1989 and 1997. In 1989 he earned the “Top Producer Award” in the Office Division for the Grubb & Ellis Northwest Region (Washington, Oregon and Colorado). He was certified as an active member of the prestigious Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) in 1992. Gary has been involved in over 950 transactions totaling more than 4,500,000 square feet of sales and leasing activity. In September 2000, Gary established Fountain Colony, LLC in partnership with Griffis/Blessing, Inc., the largest property management company in Colorado Springs. Gary holds a Bachelors Degree in Business and Public Administration from the University of Arizona. Gary’s wife is Kim and has two beautiful children, Sophie and Army.
Elva P. Muñoz (Treasurer)
Vice President, Business Banking, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.
Elva P. Muñoz joined Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. in March 2001. She is a Vice President for Business Banking in Colorado Springs, CO. She is responsible for developing and maintaining profitable account relationships with business customers that have annual gross sales of generally less than $20MM. She acts as the relationship manager to existing customers, provides continuing financial advice as appropriate, determines customers’ commercial loan and deposit needs and deepens existing customer relationships, acts as the customers advocate in securing suitable credit. Her career includes over thirteen years in banking, primarily in Commercial Loans. Prior to current position with Wells Fargo Business Banking, she held the position of Wells Fargo Agency Syndications Loan Closing Officer in Denver, CO. She holds a Banking and Finance Degree. She held positions with AT&T Commercial Accounts in Denver, CO and prior to that she was an MIS Director for a major Foodservice Company and National Restaurant Chain.
Her community activities include: Board Chairman –YMCA Camp Shady Brook; Campaign Chairperson YMCA Camp Shady Brook; Executive Women International (EWI) Colorado Springs Chapter Board Member and El Pomar Hispanic Advisory Council. She was a participant of El Pomar 2010 Emerging Leadership Development LeadershipPlenty Training. She is a past Board Member for Girl Scouts Wagon Wheel Council, past participant of the United Way Allocation Committee, and Junior Achievement partner in Inspiring and Educating our Future Leaders Program.
She shares the EWI Charter Business Member of the Year Award for 2008-2009 with another Wells Fargo EWI Member.
A Native Arizonan, Elva moved to Colorado in 1999 and to the Colorado Springs area in 2004.
Shawn Thompson
Senior Vice President, BBVA Compass
Shawn Thompson is Senior Vice President with BBVA Compass in Colorado Springs. Shawn has fifteen years experience in bank management and operations. He is a self-motivated leader with managerial and business development skills. While Thompson has been employed in a number of roles spanning operations and bank management, he currently focuses on business development in public, franchise, and project finance specialties. During Shawn's fifteen year banking career, he has served on Tri Lakes Center for the Arts board, as well as supporting non-profit organizations such as St. Mary's High School (Colorado Springs, CO), St. Matthias (Monument, CO), Notre Dame Preparatory (Scottsdale, AZ), and Seton Catholic High School (Chandler, AZ).
He graduated from Michigan State University and majored in Food Industry Economics and Management and minored in Finance. When Shawn moved to Colorado from Michigan in 1997, he soon met his wife Michelle. They have children ages 4, 6, 9. Shawn and his family enjoy golf, tennis, skiing, soccer, fly fishing, and hunting.

Barbara J. Winter (Vice President)
Senior Vice President, Organizational Resources, Ent Federal Credit Union
Barbara Winter joined Ent Federal Credit Union in 2001. She is responsible for executive oversight of Human Resources, Payroll, Training, and the Real Estate and Facilities divisions of Ent Federal. She joined Ent after a 28-year career with Colorado Interstate Gas Company, where she last held the position of Assistant Vice President, Human Resources and Administration. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University.
Her community activities include: Board of Directors and current Chairman – Pikes Peak United Way; Board Member – Chancellor’s Leadership Class @ the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs; Board of Directors – Goodwill Industries (currently serving on the Administrative and Compliance Committee); Board Member Emeritus of the Pikes Peak Council – Boy Scouts of America; and member of Executive Women International. She is also a member of the credit union industry CUNA HR/TD Council. She is a past Board member of the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Silver Key Senior Services, Girl Scouts Wagon Wheel Council, and Metro Board of the Pikes Peak YMCA (currently serves on the Human Resources Committee).
Winter is the 2002 recipient of the Athena Award from the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce. She was a six-year member and past president of the Colorado State University Alumni Association. She is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership Community Leaders program.
Barbara is married to David Carpenter and they have one daughter.
Lexie Spiranac
Owner/Founder, Buttercup's Frozen Yogurt
After graduating from Stanford University early with a degree in Communication, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and recipient of the Stanford Award of Excellence, Lexie returned to her hometown of Colorado Springs to try her hand at entrepreneurship by starting Buttercup's Frozen Yogurt. As the owner and founder of Buttercup's, Lexie and her co-owner did everything from start to finish, including creating all of the logos and developing the brand to hiring employees and accounting. The store uses as many local products as possible and places a strong emphasis on using the highest quality, natural ingredients.
Outside of work, Lexie has always had a strong interest in mentorship and helping people reach their potential. Starting in high school, Lexie was a part of the LINK program that helped freshmen make a smooth transition from middle school. She enjoyed helping with both the academic and personal struggles of the students so much that during college she decided to take part in the intensive Resident Assistant program at Stanford. After a two week training course and a year of mentoring freshmen, Lexie ended the program with a great sense of satisfaction about the trials herself and her team were able to help others overcome. Now, Lexie hopes to continue to impact the academic and personal lives of young people through work with Pikes Peak Prep and the greater Colorado Springs community.
